Customs clearance in Europe

Since we left the European Union, Customs clearance procedures is something that is required with moves to or from Europe. This will be arranged through us and the cost will be included with our quotation. Our team will provide you with information on the relevant documents we will require from you in order to clear Customs successfully.

Transfer of residence (TOR) for moves into the UK

If your European move requires you to move into the UK, you need to apply for ‘Transfer of Residence’ so that you can enter without paying duty and tax on your household goods.

This process can take several weeks, especially during the busy times of the year. With this in mind, it is important to start the process as soon as you can. After approval has been granted, you will be supplied with a Unique Reference Number (URN) and this is what will need to be passed onto our team. With the support of our wider GB Liners moving group, Anchor Removals are able to assist with door-to-door removals to and from most European locations. This varies depending on where you are moving to and the level or service we have quoted for. Dedicated loads for full household moves arrive in days but are more costly, partial loads will take longer to arrive but are more cost-effective. For a better understanding, please get in touch or arrange a quote.

Duty and tax is likely to be payable when moving consumables into Europe. This will, however, depend on the regulations within the destination country. We would always advise not to move them, but if you require further information, please contact our team directly.

As Anchor Removals is part of the GB Liners moving group, it provides us with access to a multi-branch network covering the whole of the UK and therefore greater flexibility and availability.
